WiserTogether is an early-stage, venture capital backed company with offices in Boston, MA.  The company’s SaaS based, Return to Health solution empowers people with clinically proven treatment guidance so they can manage and act on the best care for their situation.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Monthly Closing, Financial Reporting and Banking Compliance
    • Ensure the accurate and timely processing of accounting transactions
    • Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year end close and balance sheet account reconciliations
    • Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of financial reporting and the general ledger structure
    • Thorough understanding of revenue recognition and ASC-605
    • Ensure the monthly and quarterly bank compliance activities are performed in a timely and accurate manner
    • Ad hoc reporting, analysis, projects as required
    • Other related duties and projects as assigned
  • Payroll/HR
    • Process semi-monthly payroll and 401K remittances
    • Liaise with HR partners on benefits and compliance
    • Provide onboarding and offboarding to staff as well as training new and existing staff as needed.
  • Audit
    • Manage annual audit preparation and ensure a clean and timely year-end audit
    • Processes and Internal Controls
    • Maintain, review, revise internal controls, document key processes
    • Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department
    • Support CFO with special projects and workflow process improvements
  • A/R & A/P
    • Manage A/R and follow up with clients to ensure timely collections
    • Oversee and understand client billing schedule
    • Oversee accounts payable process and administration
    • Work with vendors, insurance brokers, benefits vendors on contract renewals and compliance requirements
    • Oversee company credit card administration

Experience, Skills, Requirements

  • BA/BS degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA highly desired
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and accounting concepts
  • 4+ years experience in a startup environment, healthcare experience a plus
  • Strong GL, payables, receivables, billing and payroll knowledge
  • Highly skilled at prioritization, communication, organization and process management
  • High attention to detail and ability to collaborate among team members
  • Excellent MS Excel skills, knowledge of QuickBooks Online
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced but rewarding environment
